B. Durchslag - President

Graduate of Boston College with over 25 years of experience in the roofing industry. Bob has directed the installation of over 50,000 squares of commercial, industrial and residential roofing projects. He has formulated 24 hour response teams following hurricane and tornado damage and coordinated temporary roofing solutions while permanent solutions could be developed and implemented. Bob works on solving a customer’s problem in the most economical way. It would be great to sell everyone a new roof, install new sheet metal, replace all the windows or even tuck point the entire building. However, in the long run, for my customers, we take the high road and we try to repair at a lower price before we would charge the higher price. We work very hard to earn our customers trust and respect and constantly develop and build a team of conscientious, dedicated staff. Bob is a member of Rotary International.

D. Durchslag - Vice President Semi-Retired

Graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. 25 Years in the roofing business.

F. Scott - Senior Project Manager

Fred has over 40 years of experience in all phases of building construction.

Having owned his own Home Improvement Company, he has the fortitude and perseverance to keep up with the rapid growth of this dynamic company. Fred has experience in installing all types of roofing plus siding, soffit/fascia and windows.

Since 1991, He has estimated and managed to successful completion 1000’s of squares of roofing and siding work on Apartment Complexes, Town Home Associations, Churches, Banks, Park Districts as well as residential homes.

Fred’s business philosophy is simple: “If you take care of the customers, the business will take care of itself.”

C. Karmalita - Senior Project Manager

Charles has 40 years experience in the roofing industry complemented by 30 years in the tuckpointing trade. He started working for Singles in January of 1981. He is experienced in all phases of Residential, Commercial and Industrial roofing including job setup, project management and warranty work. Charles oversees 45 workers on the Roofing, Sheetmetal and Tuckpointing teams and has supervised teams that worked 24/7 in emergency situations. He is well trained in safety, first aid and OSHA requirements in Illinois and Las Vegas. Charles is also a Board Member of AARP of Elgin and Director of Elgin Kiwanis.

J. Brindis - Senior Superintendent

Jim was born to roof- he is a second generation roofer whose father spent over 40 years in the local roofing industry. He grew up visiting his father on job sites that typically used all sorts of Built Up Roofing utilizing Coal Tar Pitch and Gravel or Asphalt and Gravel. This early experience cemented his love for roofing.

Jim has been in roofing for over 28 years. He started his apprenticeship as a Union roofer in 1982 with one of the prominent roofing contractors in the area. Through the years he has run the kettles, ground hoists, drove trucks, laid up roofs and installed tapered insulation as well as run jobs as a foreman.

Jim holds a certificate in the 20 hour OSHA training courses, as well as having completed courses in scaffold training and CPR. Jim also holds a CDL license as well as HAZMAT endorsement.

Jim’s varied experience in all phases of roofing  led Singles to promote him to Senior Superintendent.

J. Baker - Office Manager

Jeanette joined Singles in August 2005. She brought with her 20+ years of office administration and accounting. She attended London University before emigrating to the United States in August, 1981. Jeanette has been an indispensable resource in the office.

In her spare time Jeanette enjoys knitting and her Jack Russell Terrier.
